Union City Litlle League

Farm

Farm is the next division up from T-Ball. This division is sometimes called Rookies or Minor-B in other cities. Like T-Ball, this division is also non-competitive, but the kids begin to play more organized baseball.

The focus of this division is to instruct kids and teach them the fundamentals of baseball. These fundamentals include:

  • Proper throwing technique
  • Batting a thrown ball (from a coach)
  • Being out on the field with other players
  • Playing safely

In addition, your child will also learn sportsmanship and team spirit while being part of a larger team. Our coaches also remind the children to have fun playing baseball.

The photos on this page are from actual games played by UCALL Farm teams.

Your child will be assigned to a team led by a Team Manager and ideally 2 coaches. We welcome any extra coaching help you can offer to help us meet the goal of 2 coaches per team (it’s a great way to spend time with your child).

The Farm teams will play each other during the regular season. We may also play some Interleague games with other leagues in the area.

All players get to bat in an inning unless there are 3 outs. Runs are not tracked. The kids get balls pitched to them from an adult coach.

Age Range:  6 - 8

  • 6 year olds who have never played before are recommended for T-Ball
  • 8 year olds who have never played before are recommended for Farm
Uniforms: The League will provide your child with a jersey and a team hat. Your child can keep the jersey and team hat at the end of the season. The rest of the uniform (pants, belts, socks, etc.) must be purchased separately.  Team managers will provide guidance on these items.
