Union City Litlle League

Majors

The Major division is a competitive division. At this level, players are very capable of playing baseball and understand the rules of the game. There is a high quality of baseball being played on the field.

Most kids playing at this level have played baseball before and will continue to grow in their understanding of the game and develop their skills. Some kids do specialize in specific skills at this level like playing catcher, being a pitcher, playing specific positions on the field etc. Some players do play multiple positions on the field depending on their ability.

Players in this division must participate in tryouts to allow coaches an opportunity to assess their abilities.  Based on these assessments, players are assigned to the appropriate division.

Major teams play about 18 – 20 games a season over a 3 month period. Wins and losses are tracked along with standings. The winning team for the season will go on to play the Tournament of Champions which is a competition against other champions in the area.

The best players from all teams are separately nominated as All-Stars and the All Star teams will also play against similar teams in the area.

All-Star teams from this division qualify to play in the Little League World Series if they advance far enough.

All regular season games are played on a field dedicated to the Major division.  The photos on this page are from actual UCALL Major division games.

Parents who have been in the league for a while always enjoy renewing friendships from prior years.

Age Range:  9 - 12

  • 9 year olds can only play at this level if they have the skills and with parental consent
  • 10 and 11 year olds who have never played before are assigned to the Minors
  • 12 year olds must play in the Majors.
Uniforms: The League will provide your child with a jersey and a team hat. Your child can keep the team hat at the end of the season. The rest of the uniform (pants, belts, socks, etc.) must be purchased separately.  Team managers will provide guidance on these items.
