MinorsThe Minor division is a “semi-competitive” division with kids playing quality baseball while having a lot of fun. The division is still instructional in nature and maintains a focus on teaching baseball fundamentals. At this level, the kids are more proficient on the rules of the game and the players will get opportunities to learn different skills including pitching, batting, playing different positions on the field etc. The goal is for kids to be ready to play in the Major division. Your child will learn to play in a competitive but fun environment. Kids learn many life lessons including sportsmanship, playing fair, the thrill of winning, being gracious when losing and trying their best at all times. Players in this division must participate in tryouts to allow coaches an opportunity to assess their abilities. Based on these assessments, players are assigned to the appropriate division. A Minor team will play about 15 – 20 games during the season which lasts about 3 months. The winning team for the season will go on to play the Tournament of Champions which is a competition against other Minor League champions in the area. Kids face live pitching from other kids. Wins/losses are tracked and team standings are maintained. All regular season games are played on a field dedicated to the Minor division. The photos on this page are from actual UCALL Minor division games. Parents who have been in the league for a while always enjoy renewing friendships from prior years. The Minor division also welcomes children who have never played ball before as long as they are in the right age range. If you are a new parent with a child in the right age range, we encourage you to sign up and be part of the Minor family. Age Range: 8 - 11
