Kristian joined UCALL this last season & played in our Farm Division for Manager Larry Kohler. He was enthusiastic & energetic about playing his 1st season of little league baseball & showed a lot of raw talent that the coaches were developing to get him ready for the Minor Division next season. Kristian and his family made fast friends with the other players and their families. His grandpa Richard had even joined the coaching staff.
This past June Kristian was feeling tired & lethargic so his mom Kristi took him in to see the pediatrician thinking he may be coming down with a bad summer cold or flu. The news they received on June 10th was more than the family could expect - he had T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia & had a tumor in his chest that they described to be like a shield over his heart & lungs. Kristian started an aggressive chemotherapy treatment later that same day. Kristian spent many days at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland getting his treatments & being monitored for side affects from the chemo. His mom Kristi & his grandparents, Richard & Debbie, have been constantly by his side.
Kristian is a part of our UCALL family & we as a league are asking everyone to please give what they can to help out Kristian & his family so that at least some of the financial burden is lifted. The treatment for his cancer is a 3 yr long journey and it has just begun so whatever we can give to the family will help them out tremendously.
